“ SINETRON ” (title)

There are so many films in the world which have genre each other. The kind of genre are action, comedy, documentary, animated, drama and so on. On the other hand, drama also can call a sinetron. In the simple form, sinetron can be defined as a kind of drama which shows on television or radio.(definition of Sinetron)  Along with the development of technology, there are so many sinetron that shows on Indonesia’s television. The result of  Nielsen research indicates that television viewers from 2012 until now can spend for about 4,5 hours per day watching television moreover 24% of them is watch sinetron(fact of Sinetron). Raam Punjabi (sinetron producers) explains, “ in order to create popularity, sinetron should has the quality as entertainment. The entertainment quality of the sinetron is to able to entertain and show positive aspects for the viewers”. (authorities opinion about Sinetron) Sinetron should be banned from Indonesia’s television. Because it gives a bad impact for real life. (thesis statement or main idea)

Some may argue that sinetron are entertaining people who watching on television. They feel comforted, because sinetron can fill their spare time every day.(contra pharagraph) However, if too much to watch a sinetron would have a negative impact on their health. They do not realize that sinetron have been suggesting their brains and impact on daily life.(the weakness of the argument) The sinetron is not always bad, there is also a  moral and religious values are contained in sinetron and it has positive implications. Example, help each other, and give an example for the audience to live with a new style.(another opposing claim) An Indonesian television, sinetron is not a stranger anymore. Almost all television stations are competing to produce sinetron. Of course, can bring consequences for the students. One of them disruption of learning time that should be used for learning. Many channels that make the sinetron storylines, do not think about the impact that occurs in the audience. The bad effects usually occur in students. Usually, students who are new the subject of derision by his new friends.(the weakness of opposite argument)

            It is clear that sinetron should be banned from Indonesian television because it has a lot of bad effects.(back to thesis statement) The general public sees it as a mirror of reality that can serve as an example by the audience. “Signs that they had detracted from the sinetron seen when they perform impersonation of what they watch (Labib, 2002)”(Authorities opinion). The audiences imitate not only the action of the actor, but also by the way they dressed. When the audience comes to the salon, They ask the barber to cut their hair similar to their idol. “Some companies use it as an opportunity to promote their products. (Labib, 2002)”(Authorities opinion). Sinetron not only make the audience imitate what is done by actors, but sinetron also has an impact on real life. For example, the rich more powerful than the poor.(Supporting technique)

            Then, a lot of people who say that the sinetron  has its advantages. Including, sinetron can entertain the audience, the actors are beautiful and handsome, the episodes are numerous. But, when the film was finished, the audience was curious about the sequel.(another argument which pararel with thesis statement) In fact, sinetron also brings bad impact to the audience  as has been mentioned above.. Namely: impact on students and the citizen. “Citizen assumes that sinetron is the reflection of reality which could be imitated in daily life. Besides, the actors/ actress’s behavior strongly impact how the viewers behave. It indicates that they have influenced by sinetron. They imitate what they see (Labib, 2002)”) (Authorities opinion). We need to save ourselves from media ignorance such as watching sinetron. Do not let the sinetron ruin the future generation.(warning of the argument)
